John Fraser has investigated ghosts and the paranormal for many years. Initially, as a member of ASSAP, he participated in some long running regression experiments. He was later to join The Ghost Club following correspondence with Peter Underwood on mutual research they had been conducting on the famous Sandwood Bay ghost.
John went on to become Vice Chair (Investigations) of The Ghost Club and is currently on the Council and the Spontaneous Cases Committee of The Society for Psychical Research (SPR). In 2000 he also helped organise the Second World Dracula Congress in Transylvania, even managing to persuade the actress Ingrid Pitt to attend.
John is the author of Ghost Hunting : A Survivors Guide (2010, The History Press) as well as regularly contributing to the Fortean Times and other paranormal magazines. He has also appeared on UK and Japanese television documentaries which explore unexplained phenomena. Recently John has researched and spoken about how different cultures may conceptualise certain paranormal events in different ways, and noted the way that some Eastern European vampire tales may even have similarities to the Great British poltergeist. This may possibly have a relevance to the wilder interpretations of the Highgate Vampire Case. **
**By coincidence (?) John’s first attempt at investigating the paranormal was a cine camera documentary for entry to a young film maker’s competition when he was fourteen. This included a large section on the famous Highgate Cemetery Vampire. The separately recorded soundtrack however was mysteriously deleted. He is hoping that nothing similar will happen on his return to Highgate after so many years!
