Tonight (Saturday night!) BBC Radio 4 broadcast an hour long program which focussed upon the darker aspects of the 1960s flower child movement. Black Aquarius, presented by Matthew Sweet and produced by Simon Hollis, presents a rare window into the late 1960s surge of interest in the occult via cultural frames of reference both modern and contemporary. David Farrant, who was pivotal to the rise in the 1970s public’s interest in the Highgate ‘vampire’ case, and is one of our Symposium’s key speakers, was asked to contribute to the broadcast. You can hear his comments, recorded in Highgate Cemetery last week, at the link below. Other notable contributions (amongst many others!) come from Hammer Horror stalwart Caroline Munro and gothic scholar extraordinaire Kim Newman. This unusual broadcast is certainly worth a listen!
